Biography   –   Janet Naidu, B.A., LL.B 

Janet is a workplace Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) expert.  She helps executives and leadership teams to envision and foster a better workplace where employee engagement and performance are intrinsic in employees experiencing a sense of belonging. She brings a passion for improving human relationships in the workplace she helps clients develop effective strategies and goals to strengthen their journey on the EDI spectrum.  

Known as a dedicated, accomplished EDI professional with expertise in developing, implementing and managing strategic initiatives that strengthen the workforce diversity of large organizations, Janet leverages her strong consulting, change management and collaboration expertise to help client organizations proactively build stronger, more inclusive communities in the workplace.

Janet’s extensive 20+ years at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) where she was the pioneer of the LCBO's EDI organizational strategy which included conducting an Organizational Cultural Assessment and Employee Survey, incorporating EDI in the strategic human resources plans and developing tools for measuring the progress of the organization, especially in gender equality at the time. 

As an EDI and dispute resolution expert, as well as having a legal background, Janet’s experience in the business industry has helped countless small to large sized organizations develop their workplace values, culture and management practices to tackle the challenges of incorporating diversity and inclusion in their corporate goals.  She has helped organizations to facilitate resolution for difficult workplace challenges and disputes, and to educate and train leaders and managers around workplace conduct best practices and workplace conduct legal requirements.

Janet specializes in mediation, workplace restoration, coaching as well as equity, diversity and inclusion as well as human rights training.

Highly respected by clients and by the profession, Janet’s previous corporate roles included being a former Ombudsperson and creator of one of Canada’s most renowned workplace EDI programs. She has also created and implemented unique programs and training for racial profiling prevention. Janet serves as a lead investigator for allegations of workplace harassment, discrimination, bullying and violence in the workplace.

Janet holds a BA in Political Science and Caribbean Studies from the University of Toronto and an LL.B from the University of London (UK). She has achieved the Human Resource Law Certificate with Osgoode Law, Toronto and the Advanced Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Stitt Feld Handy Group, Toronto.  Janet is also a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution of Ontario (ADRIO) and the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA). Janet also sits on several community based Committees, using her passion and expertise to enable these organizations to flourish.

As a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC), Janet provides leadership coaching to executives, management and staff at all levels. Janet also serves as a Mentor/Coach at the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) York Region.
